Special Meeting May 25th, 2003

Kim Karkut, Church Manager, called the special meeting to order at 11:13 AM in the Shelton Congregation Church Library. Present were Bruce Nichols, Greg Schmidt, Betty Ogden. Gene Ogden. Glenn Wells, Kathey DeMarco, Darleen Conklin. Lucille Wells, Ron Karkut, Kim Karkut, Bill Barker, Lesley Barker, Cheryl Patrick.

After a lengthy discussion on what we are looking for, what we feel we need, and how much we should pay a part time interim minister, Bill Barker presented a suggested proposal. Two 4 hour blocks at a cost of $125-$150. We could offer separate mileage, healthcare package and 14% pension. After a discussion Lucille Wells felt that 8 hours a week was not adequate. Most members present agreed.

It was then decided that we would offer 4 blocks (16 hours), $80.00 per unit. Mileage of .36 a mile. Pension of 14% If healthcare is included, with a $500 a month contribution from us, the salary would be $32.000. If healthcare is declined a $10 bonus would be given, so a unit would be S90.00 or a salary of $34,000. Also was suggested - a 6 month renewable contract be agreed upon.

Bill Barker then made a motion that was passed with all members present in favor.

After joining together to say "The Lord's Prayer" the meeting was adjourned.

Special Meeting June 1st 2003

Kim Karkut call the special meeting to order at 11:15 AM in the Shelton Congregation Church Library. Present were Kathey DeMarco, Bruce Nichols, Lucille Wells, Walter Crosby, Ron Karkut, Kim Karkut. Bill Barker, Lesley Barker. Glenn Wells. Gene Ogden, Betty Ogden and Cheryl Patrick.

This meeting was called to amend the motion of the previous special meeting. The calculations presented at the previous meeting reflected the cost of a full time minister. The cost now is $24,664. For a part-time interim with no healthcare. $28,094. with healthcare.

Bill then made a new motion which passed 9 in favor and 1 against.
